American Foxhound
Hound Group
There's an old saying, "Apple Pie is as American as the American Foxhound". This is one of the rarest native dogs in the U.S. You will mostly find them hanging around hunting and trial groups. When they're working, they are slow and methodical, leaving no stone unturned. As a pet, the American Fox Hound can be very trying to the novice pet owner. They are very stubborn and independent thinkers. However they do have a very sweet disposition and are second to none in their handing of young children and other dogs (especially they're own kind).
